Terms of service.
These terms are the agreement between you and SnapBet AI when you use the bot. We have written them in plain English because we want you to actually read them. By messaging the SnapBet AI WhatsApp bot, by connecting a bookmaker account, or by asking us to place a bet, you agree to what is below.
01The short version
- SnapBet AI is an assistant, not a bookmaker. We do not take stakes, we do not hold your funds, and we do not set odds. The actual bets live on your SportyBet, Bet9ja, or 1xBet account.
- You must be 18 or older and physically located in Nigeria to use the service.
- When you connect a bookmaker account, you authorise us to log in and place bets on your behalf, exactly as you described to us. We do nothing else with your account.
- You are responsible for your bets. The stake, the selections, and the outcomes are yours. We do not guarantee wins, profits, or specific odds.
- SnapBet AI may be unavailable sometimes. Bookmakers go down, networks fail, software has bugs. We do our best; we cannot guarantee 100% uptime.
- Disputes about a specific bet, a payout, or a bookmaker account go to the bookmaker first. We will help where we reasonably can.
- Either of us can end this agreement. You can stop using SnapBet AI any time. We can suspend or close your access if you misuse the service.
02Who this agreement is between
These terms are between you ("you", "the user") and Snapbet Technologies Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria with its registered office in Lagos ("SnapBet", "we", "us", "our"). When we say "the service" we mean the SnapBet AI WhatsApp bot, the website at snapbet.app, and any related products we run from time to time.
By using the service you confirm you have read these terms, you understand them, and you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
03What SnapBet AI is (and isn't)
SnapBet AI is a software assistant that runs inside WhatsApp. You tell it, in plain language or by pasting a booking code, what bet you want placed. It logs into your bookmaker account on your behalf and places that bet. It then sends you the receipt.
Concretely:
- We are a software intermediary. We are not a bookmaker, a betting platform, a wallet, an exchange, a tipster, or a financial adviser.
- We do not hold your money. Your stake stays on your bookmaker account. Winnings are credited by the bookmaker to that same account. We never touch the funds.
- We do not set odds, prices, or selections. Those come from the bookmakers. If the price moves between you sending the request and us placing the bet, the bookmaker's price at the moment of placement is the price.
- We do not give betting advice. Anything that looks like a "tip" — for example, an alert that odds dropped on a market — is informational, not a recommendation.
- We do not run lotteries, casinos, or any of our own gaming products. SnapBet AI is access infrastructure on top of licensed Nigerian bookmakers.
We are operated under the laws of Nigeria. The bookmakers we work with — SportyBet, Bet9ja, 1xBet — are licensed by the relevant Nigerian gaming authorities (NLRC, LSLB, or state-level boards). SnapBet AI does not need its own gaming licence to act as a software interface to those bookmakers, but the underlying betting transaction is governed by their licences and their terms.
04Eligibility & 18+
To use SnapBet AI you must:
- Be at least 18 years old. Nigerian gaming law and Meta's WhatsApp Business policy both require this.
- Be physically located in Nigeria at the time of use.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under Nigerian law.
- Not be self-excluded from any Nigerian licensed bookmaker, and not be on any government or bookmaker exclusion list.
- Not be a bookmaker employee, regulator, or family member of either, where doing so would breach the bookmaker's own house rules.
- Use SnapBet AI for your own personal account, not on behalf of someone else, not as a betting agent, and not for any commercial reselling activity.
If we discover that any of the above is not true for you, we will close your access and notify the relevant bookmaker if required.
Play safe
If you or someone close to you is struggling with gambling, contact BACTA Nigeria or call 0800-3232-TALK. You can also send SELF-EXCLUDE to the bot to suspend your access for a period you choose.
05Your account
Your "SnapBet AI account" is identified by your WhatsApp phone number. You do not register a separate username or password with us.
- One account per phone number. Multi-accounting (running several SnapBet identities to circumvent bookmaker limits or our rules) is not allowed.
- Keep your phone secure. Anyone with access to your WhatsApp can message the bot. Lock your phone, do not share your WhatsApp PIN, and log out of WhatsApp Web on devices you do not own.
- Tell us if your phone is lost or stolen. Email hello@snapbet.app or send
FREEZE MY ACCOUNTfrom any device temporarily logged in to that WhatsApp number, and we will suspend the account immediately. - Information must be accurate. Anything you tell us about yourself or your bookmaker accounts must be true and current.
06Your bookmaker credentials & authority
When you give SnapBet AI your bookmaker username and password, you do two things:
- You authorise us to log into that bookmaker account on your behalf, solely to perform the actions you ask us to perform — typically: load a booking code, place a bet, browse fixtures, fetch odds, and read your slip status.
- You confirm that giving us this authority does not breach the bookmaker's own terms and conditions. Most Nigerian bookmakers do not currently prohibit a third-party assistant placing bets on your behalf, but their terms can change. The responsibility for staying compliant with the bookmaker's rules sits with you, the account holder.
How we treat the credentials is described in detail in our Privacy Policy: AES-256 encrypted at rest, decrypted only in memory at the moment of use, never logged, never displayed back to you, deletable on demand by sending FORGET MY LOGIN.
We will never use your bookmaker login for anything other than carrying out your explicit instructions. We do not transfer funds between accounts, we do not change your account settings, we do not place bets you did not ask for, and we do not log in for "fun" or analytics purposes.
Important
If a bookmaker explicitly prohibits the use of automated assistants in your jurisdiction or on your specific account, you must not connect that bookmaker to SnapBet AI. By connecting it, you represent that doing so is permitted under your relationship with that bookmaker. We are not responsible if the bookmaker subsequently restricts your account for using a third-party tool.
07Bets we place for you
How a bet is placed
- You send us a request: a booking code, a natural-language description ("₦1,000 on Arsenal to win"), or a slip you built inside the bot.
- We confirm the slip back to you with the markets, odds, stake, and potential winnings.
- You confirm the placement (typically by tapping a quick-reply button or replying
YES). - We log into your bookmaker, place the bet, and send you the receipt.
What "confirmation" means
Once you confirm, the bet is final the moment it is accepted by the bookmaker. SnapBet AI cannot cancel, amend, or refund a bet that has been accepted — only the bookmaker can, under their own rules.
Odds and price movement
Odds change. Between the moment you confirm and the moment our request reaches the bookmaker, prices may move. The price the bookmaker accepts is the price that applies to the bet, not the price we displayed at confirmation. We will tell you when this happens, and we will not place the bet at a materially worse price without re-confirming with you.
Failed placements
A bet may fail to place — your bookmaker session may have expired, your balance may be insufficient, the bookmaker may have suspended the market, the bookmaker's API may be unreachable. When a placement fails, no stake is taken from your account and we tell you why and what to do next.
You are responsible for your bets
- You choose the selections.
- You choose the stake.
- You confirm the placement.
- You bear the outcome — wins are yours, losses are yours.
SnapBet AI does not guarantee profits, does not promise specific odds, does not promise that a market will be available at any particular time, and does not promise that your bet will be accepted by the bookmaker.
08Fees & payments
During beta, SnapBet AI is free to use. We may introduce paid features — for example a credits-based pricing tier (described in our roadmap) or a subscription. If we do, we will:
- Tell you in advance, in clear copy, before you incur any charge.
- Require you to opt in to the paid tier explicitly. We will never charge you for something you did not affirmatively buy.
- Make pricing visible in the bot before checkout.
- Issue refunds in line with the refund policy in force at the time of purchase.
Stakes are never charged by us. Stakes are taken from the balance on your bookmaker account, by the bookmaker. SnapBet AI does not collect, hold, or move stake funds.
09Use of WhatsApp
SnapBet AI runs on top of WhatsApp, operated by Meta. Your use of WhatsApp itself is governed by Meta's terms and the WhatsApp Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for WhatsApp's availability, message delivery times, or the way Meta processes your data on the platform.
Within the bot:
- Reply
STOPto mute marketing-style messages such as price-drop alerts. You will still receive utility messages tied to bets you placed (slip confirmations, outcome notices, security codes), because those are part of the service you asked for. - Reply
HELPfor support. - Reply
DELETE MY DATAto wipe your SnapBet AI account.
10Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use SnapBet AI to place bets on someone else's behalf, run a betting agency, or operate any kind of bet-placing service for third parties.
- Use SnapBet AI to commit, attempt, or facilitate fraud, money laundering, match-fixing, or any criminal activity.
- Submit false personal information, including impersonating someone else or providing bookmaker credentials that are not yours.
- Run multiple SnapBet AI accounts from the same device or for the same person to circumvent bookmaker limits, our limits, or our policies.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, automate, or load-test the bot or our APIs in ways not permitted by these terms.
- Send abusive, threatening, harassing, or unlawful content through the bot.
- Use the bot to access bookmakers in jurisdictions where doing so is illegal, or to evade geographic or self-exclusion restrictions on a bookmaker account.
- Interfere with the operation of the service in any way.
We may treat any breach of acceptable use as grounds to suspend or terminate your access immediately, without refund of any paid-tier balance.
11Disputes with bookmakers
If a bet was settled in a way you disagree with, if a bookmaker voids your bet, if a market is paid out at a different price than displayed, or if a bookmaker disputes the validity of a bet, that dispute is between you and the bookmaker. SnapBet AI is not a party to it.
We will help where we reasonably can. Specifically:
- We can produce a record of what was placed, when, and at what price displayed in the bot.
- We can confirm to the bookmaker that the placement came through us as your authorised assistant.
- We can pause our access to your account at your request while a dispute is open.
We cannot force a payout, override a bookmaker's house rules, or compensate you for a bookmaker's settlement decision.
12Availability & service changes
We work to keep SnapBet AI available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The bot may be temporarily unavailable because:
- A bookmaker is down or its API is unreachable.
- WhatsApp is down or experiencing delivery delays.
- We are deploying updates or running maintenance.
- An incident has degraded part of our infrastructure.
We may also change, add, or remove features over time. When we make material changes that affect how you use the service — for example, dropping a bookmaker, changing a flow, or moving the bot to a new WhatsApp number — we will tell you in advance via the bot.
We do not guarantee that any specific bookmaker will continue to be supported. If we drop support for a bookmaker, we will give you notice and your stored credentials for that bookmaker will be deleted.
13Disclaimers
SnapBet AI is provided "as is" and "as available", to the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law.
- We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
- We do not warrant that any bet you ask us to place will be accepted by the bookmaker, settled in your favour, or paid out within any specific time.
- We do not warrant the accuracy of odds, fixtures, scores, or other information surfaced through the bot — that information comes from the bookmakers and from public sources, and we relay it as we receive it.
- We do not provide financial, investment, legal, or gambling advice. Anything we say is for information only.
Where Nigerian law implies warranties that cannot be excluded, our liability is limited as described in the next section.
14Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law:
- SnapBet AI is not liable for losses arising from the outcome of any bet. Bets you place can lose. Losses are yours.
- SnapBet AI is not liable for losses arising from a bookmaker's actions, including void bets, settlement decisions, account closures, withdrawal delays, or changes in the bookmaker's terms.
- SnapBet AI is not liable for indirect, consequential, special, incidental, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost opportunities, lost goodwill, or emotional distress, arising from your use or inability to use the service.
- Where SnapBet AI is found liable for direct damages, our aggregate liability to you for any claim or series of claims arising in any twelve-month period is capped at the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in that period, or (b) ₦20,000.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or anything that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.
15Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold SnapBet AI harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party — including a bookmaker — that arises out of:
- Your breach of these terms.
- Your breach of a bookmaker's terms or any applicable law.
- Information you provided to us being false, inaccurate, or unauthorised.
- Your use of SnapBet AI in a way that this agreement does not permit.
16Suspension & termination
You can stop using SnapBet AI at any time. Send DELETE MY DATA on WhatsApp, or email privacy@snapbet.app. This ends the agreement.
We may suspend or end your access if:
- You breach these terms, in particular the acceptable-use section.
- We reasonably suspect fraud, money laundering, multi-accounting, or other illegal activity.
- A bookmaker, regulator, or court requires us to stop providing the service to you.
- You are no longer eligible (for example, you self-exclude, or we discover you are under 18).
- We discontinue the service.
Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you in advance. Where we cannot — for example, if waiting would cause more harm — we will act first and explain after.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — for example liability limits, indemnity, governing law — survive termination.
17Intellectual property
The SnapBet AI bot, the website, the brand, the copy, the design, and the underlying software are owned by Snapbet Technologies Ltd or our licensors. You get a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use them as part of the service, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You do not get permission to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the bot or the website.
- Use the SnapBet AI name, logo, or branding without our written consent.
- Scrape, mirror, or republish content surfaced through the bot.
18Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or the service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
Before going to court, we both agree to try to resolve any dispute first through direct discussion. Email legal@snapbet.app with the details and we will respond within 14 days. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, either of us is free to pursue the dispute through the courts.
19Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will:
- Update the "Effective" date at the top.
- Increment the version number.
- For material changes, send you a notice on WhatsApp and require you to acknowledge the new terms before continuing to use the service.
The current version of these terms is always at snapbet.app/terms.html. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
